Jesse Jackson moved out of intensive care

(The Hill) — Rev. Jesse Jackson, 84, remains in stable condition at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, the Rainbow Push Coalition said in a Monday release.

The social justice organization, which Jackson formed in 1996, added that the civil rights leader would be moved from the ICU later Monday. Jackson was diagnosed with supranuclear palsy (PSP) in April, after previously being diagnosed with Parkinson’s syndrome in 2013.

“We believe in the power of prayer, and we are grateful for the overwhelming outreach and prayers of the faithful,” Jackson’s son, Yusef Jackson, said in the release. “Our father is alert and continues to share his vision for churches and pastors to come together and reduce malnutrition during this period.”…
