Suspicious device removed, prompts investigation in downtown Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The Wichita Police Department has given an all-clear after a suspicious device was found in downtown Wichita on Monday.

Around 2 p.m., the WPD informed the community that a suspicious device had been located inside the department’s Property and Evidence building at 410 N. Waco. Nearby buildings were advised to shelter in place.

At about 2:40 p.m., authorities said the device had been transported to a secure location for further investigation, and the shelter-in-place order was lifted…
