YANCEY COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — Several counties, towns and other municipalities across western North Carolina have issued a burn ban due to dry weather conditions in the region.
Buncombe County:
The Buncombe County Fire Marshal’s office has issued an open burning ban amid “very high” fire danger for most of the state.
The ban applies to all open burning, including yard waste, debris, and land-clearing burns.
Lake Lure:
Due to an increased fire risk, a ban on all open burning is in effect, according to the Lake Lure Fire Department.
All burning permits have also been cancelled statewide, effective immediately, until further notice.
Mitchell County:
