Maryland Zoo Lowers Admission to $5 for SNAP Recipients

Discount pricing runs from November 17-30

BALTIMORE, MD – The price of food may be going up, but the cost of admission to The Maryland Zoo is going down for SNAP recipients. Starting on November 17 through the end of the month, each SNAP recipient will receive $5 admission to the Zoo, which includes free parking and unlimited carousel and train rides. That’s a savings of $28 off the regular $33 admission price. A valid SNAP EBT card and matching photo ID are required for entry.

“While we can’t do anything about the economic challenges people are facing, we can offer a place where friends and families come together to build lasting memories and forget about the stresses in their lives for a little bit,” said Zoo President and CEO, Kirby Fowler.

“It costs $1.5 million to nourish the animals in our care each year, so we understand what a lot of families are going through with prices on the rise,” Fowler said…
