Man in shooting near Fig Garden arrested after SWAT standoff, police say

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man wanted for a shooting that injured another was arrested in Fresno, despite inconsistencies in the victim’s story, the Fresno Police Department announced Tuesday.

According to police, on Oct. 29, around 12:30 a.m., they responded to Fruit and Ashlan avenues for a shooting where they found a man with gunshot wounds to his chest and shoulder. He was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

At the time, officers say the victim told them he was walking with a woman when they passed through an apartment complex. The victim claimed someone yelled toward them before several shots were fired at him…
