Kids Who Care: Heather Headley leads masterclass for Allen County students

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — Select Allen County high school students had the chance to participate in a rare opportunity recently.

Grammy Award and Tony Award-winning artist Heather Headley led a three-day masterclass series for performing arts students in and around Fort Wayne. The former Fort Wayne resident and Northrop High School graduate worked alongside Award-Winning Music Director and Vocal Coach Jermaine Hill, TimeLine Theatre Founding Artistic Director Nick Bowling, and other renowned performing arts educators and experts. She also partnered with Chuck Surack and the Pearl Street Arts Center to bring this opportunity to the Summit City.

“Performance, musical theatre – it’s my biggest goal in life. I love it! I love singing, I love performing, I love storytelling,” Homestead Senior Natalia Nicolov says. “I thought this would be an amazing opportunity for me to gain insight on the musical theatre industry as well as how the audition process goes.”…
