KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Kalamazoo County leaders say they’re taking a first-of-its-kind approach to addressing a shortage of affordable and attainable housing in what they have now formally deemed a “public health crisis.”
At Tuesday night’s board of commissioners meeting, county officials presented a draft housing framework they describe as a strategic blueprint to better coordinate existing programs, leverage available funding, and guide long-term decision-making.
