VERO BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — Management at a local Christian camp is speaking out after the property was struck by gunfire late Sunday night.
Authorities arrested 35-year-old Brandon Harnois, who had allegedly set up a shooting gallery in his backyard close to the campground. No one was hurt in the incident, but it was described as a close call for the staff living there.
The incident could have ended much worse, as the ReaLife Campgrounds host hundreds of children throughout the year. While there were no campers present on Sunday night, 20 staff members currently live on the grounds. The camp was hit by two bullets late Sunday.
