SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse Housing Authority has finally acquired the Eastwood Heights property in a land swap agreement with the city, the agency announced on Tuesday.
The housing authority said the finalization of the transaction between itself and the City of Syracuse marks a major step forward with its plan to turn the property into affordable, senior housing in the Eastwood Neighborhood.
The SHA said revitalization efforts are expected to cost $25.9 million. It said that, along with modernizing the property, the number of apartments will grow to 53 from 49.
