WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Nov. 18 marks two months since rumors about an active shooter on the University of North Carolina Wilmington’s (UNCW) campus spread on social media, causing widespread panic and a campus lockdown.

On Friday, Sept. 18, the campus was placed under lockdown for several hours while police carried out a sweep following reports.
