Bank of America awards Amarillo Habitat for Humanity grant

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR KCIT) — Amarillo Habitat for Humanity has been awarded a $50,000 grant through Bank of America’s 2025 Neighborhood Builders program, giving the nonprofit new support to expand its work in affordable housing.

According to officials from Bank of America, Habitat for Humanity was selected for its continued efforts to address the growing need for safe and affordable homeownership in the Amarillo area. “We selected them for the work they do around affordable housing and trying to address that issue, and that’s become an increasing need in our community, and they’re doing a fabulous job,” said Ashley Allen, president of Bank of America Amarillo.

Officials from Habitat for Humanity said the grant will help fund several upcoming homebuilding projects in the North Heights neighborhood. The organization has not built in the North Heights area for more than 15 years, but plans to construct five new homes in the area.

“Receiving this grant is a great blessing for us. So it’s a wonderful opportunity to have access to resources that we don’t normally have.”…
