KCPD fills all funded call-taker positions for first time since 2020

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The Kansas City Police Department has filled all funded 911 call-taker positions for the first time since 2020, leading to faster emergency response times across the city.

The staffing milestone was announced at Tuesday’s Board of Police Commissioners meeting, where officials reported they have boosted call-taker training success rates from 6% to 75-80%.
