Accountancy Board fines, reprimands Renner CPA

PIERRE, S.D. (KELO) — A certified public accountant is in trouble with the South Dakota Board of Accountancy.

Michael Nieman of Renner was found to be 11.6 hours short of the 120 hours of continuing education that the board requires for accountants over a three-year period.

Shutdown bill could impact local hemp products

Board members on Tuesday fined Nieman $1,000 and ordered that he receive a public reprimand. He also is required to pay the cost of the hearing, which was held by teleconference.

His South Dakota accounting license had previously expired. If Nieman does seek license renewal in South Dakota, he would face additional restrictions…
