Santa Clothes event to aid needy kids in Southern Nevada

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Las Vegas Rotary Club is kicking off one of its most cherished holiday traditions with the 30th annual Santa Clothes program, a community effort that provides new clothing and essential items to children in need across Southern Nevada.

Established in 1996, the one-day initiative has supported approximately 5,000 students over three decades, donating more than $3 million in clothing, services, and resources to local families.

This year’s event will take place on Thursday, Dec. 4, at JCPenney stores throughout Las Vegas and Henderson. Hundreds of volunteers will accompany children as they shop for winter coats, socks, shoes, shirts, and other necessities.

After shopping, the students will head to a special field day hosted by the Boy Scouts of America Area Council, where UNLV athletic teams will lead games, activities, and team-building stations in a supportive and festive environment…
