Are Starbucks workers still on strike? Union says company has made no contact.

Thousands of unionized Starbucks workers remain on strike across the country as the coffee chain debuted a new holiday beverage on Tuesday, Nov. 18.

Strikers entered day five of the “Red Cup Rebellion” on Nov. 18, the same day Starbucks unveiled its Frozen Peppermint Hot Chocolate, exclusively available at Starbucks locations inside Target stores. The nationwide strikes began on Nov. 13, Starbucks’ annual Red Cup Day, when customers may receive a free, reusable red cup with a beverage purchase.

Starbucks Workers United, which represents employees at about 550 of the chain’s estimated 10,000 U.S. locations, said last week that many of its 65 participating stores had to close because of the strikes. But Starbucks Corp. spokesperson Jaci Anderson said the company saw minimal impact on the busy sales day and that, in fact, the company saw the highest Red Cup Day sales in history…
