Sobriety checkpoints planned for Thanksgiving Eve

(WJW) – Local law enforcement is planning sobriety checkpoints the night before Thanksgiving.

The night before Thanksgiving is known as one of the busiest bar nights, and has become somewhat of its own holiday with nicknames like “Blackout Wednesday” and “Drunksgiving.”

According to a media release, the Summit County OVI Task Force will be conducting sobriety checkpoints across Summit County on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025, into early Thursday morning, Nov. 27, 2025.
