ALBANY — A new proposal would allow developers to buy their way out of complying with a city law requiring a certain number of affordable units to be included in housing developments.
The city’s Common Council voted 9-6 on Monday evening to amend a proposed ordinance that would have repealed a 2023 law that increased affordable housing requirements for developments.
