COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A woman was struck by a pickup truck and dragged nearly 300 feet to her death Tuesday evening in northeast Columbus.
According to a Columbus police incident report, a woman was crossing Cleveland Avenue in an east-to-west direction, near the Oakland Park Avenue intersection in North Linden. At the same time, at 6:53 p.m., a person driving a red pickup truck was traveling northbound on Cleveland Ave.
Dispute over auto parts leads to murder charge
Police said the pickup truck struck the woman while crossing the street, but not in a marked crosswalk area. The victim was then dragged approximately 290 feet and the driver fled the scene following the collision.
Responding medics took the woman to an area hospital in critical condition, but she was soon pronounced dead at 7:32 p.m…
