EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Local non-profit Young & Established (Y&E) sprang into action Tuesday after strong storms swept through the area, knocking out power to several businesses—including the East Side Target.
According to Y&E officials, the store’s sudden loss of electricity meant all perishable food had to be discarded. Instead of letting it go to waste, Target immediately reached out to the organization, known for its community support efforts.
With large quantities of food on hand, Y&E quickly mobilized. Volunteers arrived with trailers, trucks, and even a semi to transport the items. The rapid response allowed the organization to distribute the food to families across the community…
