Camera Captures Lightning Strike on ABC 25 Tower in Kentucky

November weather has tried to be all things to all people, and, for the most part, it has succeeded. Snow? Check. Sunny days with temperatures near 80? Check. Heavy rain? Check. Days with normal high temperatures? We’ve had that, too.

We’ve also had some borderline severe weather, although not the kind that wore us out last spring. As a matter of fact, I’m currently listening to heavy rain batter the rooftop, accompanied by the occasional clap of thunder.

Lightning Strikes Henderson’s ABC 25 Transmitter Tower

Earlier on this Tuesday, however, it got a lot more exciting in Henderson, Kentucky, when the ABC 25 transmitter tower, which services Eyewitness News-WEHT/WTVW, got hit by lightning…not once, but twice.

This dramatic footage comes to us courtesy of the television station’s Ellis Park tower cam. Miraculously, no disruptions were reported.
