Private club with suites, cigar lounge, cafe coming to downtown Grand Rapids in 2026

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A new private business and social club is coming to downtown Grand Rapids.

Renovations are set to start at the beginning of next year at Commerce Club, located at 61 Commerce Avenue near Division Street. Once the project is complete, it will include amenities like a café, overnight suites, a gym and wellness center and a speakeasy and cigar lounge. There will also be a concierge, event space, offices and coworking space.

Project leaders expect the Commerce Club to open before the end of 2026. The club intends on adding a full-service restaurant and other amenities in phase two of the project.

The Commerce Club will be owned by more than 50 founders, according to a release. Members will be able to join with a referral from a founding member.
