With Redstone Arsenal chosen to be the new home for Space Command, “there’s a lot of work happening to make this a success,” Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle said Friday at his annual State of the City address.
“Our teams have been working hand in hand with state and federal partners to ensure a smooth transition, and we stand ready for 1,400 new jobs that will join our workforce over the next five years,” Battle said in his remarks to about 1,200 business, government and nonprofit leaders.
“Let me emphasize, this is not just a success for Huntsville,” he said. “It has to be a success for our nation and for our world. The mission is protecting our assets in space. … Keeping that infrastructure safe keeps our world running.”…
