Fright Night at Bay Oaks: A spooktacular success for the whole community

Halloween spirit was alive and well on Fort Myers Beach as Bay Oaks Park hosted its annual Fright Night celebration, drawing hundreds of families, friends, and visitors for one of the most anticipated events of the year. With creative costumes and laughter echoing through the park, this year’s event was truly a spooktacular success!

From the moment guests arrived, kids began darting from one activity to another—bouncing through inflatables, collecting candy at Trunk-or-Treat, and playing carnival-style games while parents enjoyed the upbeat, family-friendly atmosphere. The smell of treats from food trucks filled the air, giving guests the perfect fuel for a fun-filled evening of spooky celebration.

One of the night’s highlights was the costume contest, where creativity took center stage. From tiny superheroes to elaborate family themes, the imagination of Fort Myers Beach residents did not disappoint. A special panel of guest judges—including local favorite Howey Hoffman, Council Member Karen Woodson and Town Manager Will McKannay—had the difficult task of selecting winners across several age groups. Every contestant received cheers and applause, capturing the joyful, community-centered spirit that makes this event so special.

The fun didn’t stop there—guests explored the community booths, danced to Halloween-themed music and filled their bags with candy from generous local participants. Each activity offered something for everyone, whether you were there to show off your costume, enjoy a bite to eat, or simply soak up the lively energy of the evening.

This year’s event was made possible through the teamwork of Bay Oaks staff, generous donations, and dedicated volunteers who went above and beyond to ensure every detail—from decorations to candy refills—was handled with care. Their hard work paid off, creating an unforgettable evening that highlighted the best of Fort Myers Beach’s community spirit…
