Crash Responder Safety Week to raise awareness for first responder safety

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – Every year, traffic incident responders, from police officer to tow truck operators, are killed while clearing crash sites.

There are six million police-reported motor vehicle crashes, stalled vehicles, or roadway debris reports every year in the country, according to the US Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration.
