Massachusetts debates $20 minimum wage by 2029

BOSTON (WWLP) – The Joint Committee on Labor and Workforce Development is considering several bills that could raise minimum wages.

One bill under consideration is called “An Act relative to raising the minimum wage closer to a living wage in the commonwealth,” raising the minimum wage to $20 an hour by 2029.

Some advocates, like the Massachusetts Teachers Association’s Max Page, pointed out benefits of the policy, like making more groups of people eligible for minimum wage.
