Inmate dies at Sedgwick County jail

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — An inmate has died at the Sedgwick County Adult Detention Facility.

The sheriff’s office says the 72-year-old inmate was found unresponsive around 10 a.m. Sunday in the medical clinic unit. Detention deputies and medical staff immediately began life-saving measures.

Sedgwick County EMS and the Wichita Fire Department took over treatment and transported the inmate to a Wichita hospital. He was pronounced dead around 11 a.m.
