What did you go to college for?
Well, right out of high school, I actually started in a criminal justice program because I wanted to be a cop. My uncle was a detective, so that definitely influenced me. But my aunt, who was a teacher at a Catholic school, kind of won me over and steered me toward education. I looked into law enforcement for a while, then thought about becoming an English teacher which honestly wouldn’t have been the best fit for me. Eventually, I realized counseling was where I belonged. I got my master’s degree from Spring Arbor University in 2017 and started working at Skyline right after that.
