Biltomore PGA event gets $3.17 million grant from state

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) – North Carolina announced on Wednesday a multi-million dollar grant to support the first PGA Tour event in Asheville in over 80 years.

The state announced it has approved a $3.17 grant from its Major Events, Games and Attractions Fund to support the Biltmore Championship in Asheville, set to take place in September 2026.

The fund was created by the General Assembly to support high-impact events like the PGA Tour in the state. Money for the fund is generated from taxes on sports betting in the state…
