SHIPPENSBURG- A man with over a half dozen convictions of abuse of the emergency dispatch system in South Central PA is facing fresh charges following an incident earlier this week. Steven K. Blake failed to post bail of $2,500 after being charged with three felony counts of communications with 911, misdemeanor possession of an instrument of crime with intent, and misdemeanor disorderly conduct by obscene language. He remains incarcerated in Cumberland County Prison.
Between 10:23am and 10:35am on Sunday, November 16th, 911 Dispatch in Cumberland County received three phone calls from Steven Blake of Shippensburg. During these phone calls, Pennsylvania State Police say, Blake “indicated no presence of an emergency and shouted at dispatchers….that he was doing nothing illegal and the reason he was calling is because he is a person.”
Blake, PSP say, has been told multiple times he cannot call 911 without an emergency and has been charged numerous times by the same agency for that abuse in the past. Blake would be arrested shortly after and PSP say they found a cell phone in his possession that showed logs of calling 911 three times on Sunday…
