Indianapolis Zoo getting rid of the city’s last roller coaster to make room for new exhibits

INDIANAPOLIS — The last roller coaster in all of Indianapolis will soon cease to exist.

The Indianapolis Zoo confirmed Wednesday that two rides, the skyline attraction and Kōmbo Family Coaster, will be removed sometime early next year. This came after the zoo’s board unanimously approved the removal of the rides to clear up space for other attractions.

“Work is planned to begin in Q1 2026 to remove the rides, which no longer align with the mission of the Zoo or the long-term plans for our campus,” a statement read…
