Iconic Kalamazoo bookstore future open-ended, will honor late owner

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — The future for Michigan News Agency, an iconic Kalamazoo bookstore, is open-ended but will honor the legacy of its late owner, says a member of the venture firm that took ownership of the store earlier this year.

On Wednesday, a small team cleaned up counters and hung up Christmas lights ahead of Saturday’s book sale. Eric Cunningham, general partner with Kalamazoo Forward Ventures said the store will also be the backdrop for engagement photos too.

“We received a couple that reached out to us that’s going to be doing engagement photos this weekend. They met here and they would love to have that opportunity, and we were more than willing to be a partner in that,” he told News 8…
