VIDEO: Lancaster County officer hospitalized after distracted driver crash

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A police officer was sent to a hospital after a distracted driver collided with their vehicle in Lancaster County on Monday.

According to a Facebook post from the East Lampeter Township Police Department, an on-duty police officer was attempting to turn left off the Route 30 eastbound bypass onto Old Philadelphia Pike.

Video footage released by police shows the officer driving through the intersection with a steady green light signal until a Mercedes-Benz sedan traveling west on Old Philadelphia Pike failed to stop for a steady red traffic signal and struck the police cruiser.

The department says the officer and a passenger in the vehicle were transported to Lancaster General Hospital for minor injuries…
