Pensacola man indicted on multiple charges after deadly trailer fire

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A man from Pensacola has been indicted on multiple charges, including murder and sexual battery of a child.

According to a news release from the Office of the State Attorney, First Judicial Circuit of Florida, a grand jury indicted John Henry Walston, Jr., 27, on two counts of first-degree murder, sexual battery of a child under 12, arson, and animal cruelty.

Emergency responders found two deceased children, a 9-year-old and a 7-year-old, as well as a dog in a trailer on Flaxman Street on Nov. 7.

Investigators found that Walston allegedly set the fire after sexually assaulting one of the children and slitting both of their throats. He was arrested on Nov. 8.
