ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A police pursuit of two people police say stole from the Marshalls store on East Ridge Road in Irondequoit ended in Rochester, when the suspects’ vehicle crashed into a tree.
Irondequoit Police responded to Marshalls at about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday evening, Nov. 19, for the larceny in progress — and according to Irondequoit Police Chief Scott Peters, the suspects and their vehicle were well known to police and to the store’s Loss Prevention department, as they had stolen from Marshalls several times over the past few weeks.
The vehicle drove off down East Ridge Road and would not pull over for police. The pursuit went through all parts of Irondequoit, including Route 590, and police made several unsuccessful attempts to stop the car with spike strips. Police eventually chased the vehicle over the O’Rourke bridge into the city of Rochester, and the suspects hit a tree near the intersection of Lake Avenue and Harding Road, some 10 minutes after the pursuit began…
