Attention Sonoma Residents: Minimum Wage to Increase for Local Workers Starting January 2026

Effective January 1, 2026, the City of Sonoma will increase its minimum wage to $18.47 per hour for large employers (26 or more employees) and $17.38 per hour for small employers (25 or fewer employees). This change is part of the city’s 2019 minimum wage ordinance and is included in the Sonoma Municipal Code.

The new wage rates apply to anyone working more than two hours in a week within Sonoma city limits, with some exemptions such as a learner’s wage.
