Pacific storm system threatens Central Texas with repeated rainfall, possible flash flooding

HOUSTON — An approaching Pacific storm system will raise rain chances significantly across Central and north Texas Wednesday night through Friday. The Hill country could see several rounds of rain, raising the chances for excessive rainfall and flash flooding.

The NWS has issued a flash flood watch for Central Texas and the Hill country for Wednesday night through Friday. Widespread rain totals of 1-3″ inches are likely, with some isolated spots possibly seeing 5″-7″ of rain.

People in flood prone areas are being asked to monitor the weather and the forecast closely and be ready to take action to move to higher ground…
