Man had fake handgun in attempted robbery, police shooting: Court docs

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City man has been charged in connection with an attempted robbery that ended in a police shooting on Sunday in the Northland.

Jon Roehl is facing first-degree harassment in Clay County Circuit Court. Court records say he used a replica handgun to threaten a gas station clerk. His first court appearance was on Tuesday, at which time the court entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.

According to previous reporting, at about 8:30 a.m. Sunday, officers with the Kansas City Police Department were called to the Murphy USA gas station, located near Northeast 82nd Terrace and North Church Road, on reports of an armed robbery…
