ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Northern Illinois nonprofits with the goal of ending homelessness can apply for funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Continuum of Care (CoC) grant from the City of Rockford Health and Human Services Department and the Northern Illinois Homeless Coalition.
More than $2,750,000 is allocated for accepted renewal applicants, as well as $839,216 for new bonus projects and $419,608 as a domestic violence bonus.
While the amounts are subject to a reduction, freeze, elimination or increase based on decisions by HUD, the money will go to nonprofits to help rehouse homeless individuals and families in Winnebago, Boone and DeKalb counties…
