Runaway pig finds new home

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The pig that got a lot of attention after running loose on I-40 has found a new home. Albuquerque police and Animal Welfare officers rounded up the runaway swine after it caused a ruckus on the interstate’s eastbound lanes near Louisiana.

Animal Welfare put the pig on hold in case an owner showed up to claim it, but that didn’t happen. A local couple, Jerrod and Katherine Hinchman, were the first to express interest in adopting the pig.

They picked him up from the West Side shelter early Monday, naming him “Boar-is.” He joins their other animals, including a pig named “Swine-nona.”…
