Christine Rose, a Portland-based award-winning author, is debuting a large-scale sculpture, “Liberty Wept,” a reimaging of the Statue of Liberty. This reclaimed steel sculpture is just over 6 feet tall and will make its first public appearance at the Past Lives Makerspace Open Mic Night on Friday.
“This piece reflects the deep collective grief and urgency many Americans feel in the face of rising authoritarianism and attacks on democratic freedoms,” Rose wrote in an email.
