Services set for Tempe firefighter/paramedic who died of occupational cancer

PHOENIX — The memorial services have been announced for a Tempe firefighter/paramedic who died of occupational cancer earlier this month.

John Garza, 52, died on Nov. 7 and dedicated 20 years to the Tempe Fire Medical Rescue Department, helping thousands of people in life-threatening emergencies.

The full honors memorial services for Garza will take place on Thursday at Compass Christian Church, which is located at 1825 S. Alma School Road in Chandler.
