Black Pine Animal Sanctuary plans new habitat for rescued foxes

ALBION, Ind. (WANE) — Black Pine Animal Sanctuary is asking for the community’s help with building a new habitat designed to house foxes rescued from a “fur farm” in early 2025.

The wildlife refuge is looking to raise money for a new habitat that will house up to 18 foxes. The enclosure will offer indoor and outdoor areas to accommodate all of Indiana’s seasons. Six foxes will be coming to Black Pine to accompany the four already present.

“They have been living with a rehabber. They have been nursed back to health really well, and the ones that have already arrived are curious and active just as a fox should be, so hopefully they remain that way,” said Jess Hughes, education coordinator at Black Pine.
