Judge halts St. Helena bar owner’s liquor license after mass shooting

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WSAV) — A Beaufort County business owner is facing a major setback following a mass shooting at his establishment.

On Monday, a hearing was held in Columbia, where a judge ruled to suspend the liquor license of Willie’s Bar and Grill on St. Helena Island, the month after a deadly mass shooting broke out during a high school reunion party in the early morning hours of Oct. 12.

Willie Turral, the owner of Willie’s Bar and Grill, said he was served a letter on Nov. 12 by the state, which urgently revoked his license until further notice.
