KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — More than a year after a deadly shooting in Kalamazoo, police say a man has been formally charged. Court documents say a second victim survived the shooting after he pretended to be dead.
Norris Deshane Baker, 35, was arraigned Tuesday on charges of open murder, felony firearm, assault with intent to murder and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety. Bond was denied.
Baker is accused in the death of 34-year-old Paris Anton Powe, who was shot and killed Nov. 4, 2024, in the area of Egleston Avenue and Reed Court in the Edison neighborhood.
