Woman beaten to death; body hidden in truck; Pittsburgh man held without bail

PITTSBURGH — A Washington Township man is being held without bail after police said he admitted to killing his girlfriend and driving around with her body for days, according to court records and CBS News.

Shawn Higgins, 62, was arrested Nov. 17 and charged with criminal homicide in the death of Jacqueline Pryber, 66. A criminal complaint filed Nov. 18 said Higgins confessed to punching Pryber repeatedly inside his truck, telling investigators “her blood and tissue was all over the inside” of the vehicle, according to CBS News.

Police found Higgins’ truck Monday in the driveway of a home on Turkey Ridge Road in Washington Township. Detectives said the interior of the truck was stained with a red-brown discoloration and showed signs of a struggle.
