Monte Vista Elementary School in Utah has been named a Special Olympics National Unified Champion School. The school met 10 standards, including running a Unified Sports program, supporting inclusive youth leadership, and involving the school community in activities.
The school held a surprise assembly to mark the achievement. Students were recognized, and alumni attended the event. Monte Vista and Daybreak Elementary are the first elementary schools in Utah to receive this recognition. They join other schools in the Jordan School District with this status.
