PORT CLINTON – The death of an inmate at the Ottawa County Detention Facility is being investigated as a possible suicide by hanging with a CPAP extension cord.
On Nov. 18, deputies at the jail conducted a security check at 3:29 p.m. when they found inmate Billie Wadsworth unresponsive in his cell. Lifesaving efforts began immediately, with calls for assistance. Port Clinton EMS arrived and took over efforts to revive Wadsworth within 20 minutes.
He was then transported to the Magruder Hospital Emergency Room, where efforts continued…
