Baton Rouge woman accused of beating daughter, leaving ‘dark marks’

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Baton Rouge Police Department initiated an investigation into the beating of a girl.

That investigation led to Jerelyn Davis, 35, of Baton Rouge, being charged with cruelty to juveniles.

BRPD was alerted around 5:45 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 17, and subsequently responded to a location on Blount Road.

A family member told police about text messages received from a 12-year-old that showed marks and bruises on her arms…
