DES MOINES, Iowa — One person suffered possible life-threatening injuries in a fire on Des Moines’ south side Thursday morning.
The Des Moines Fire Department was called to a home in the 100 block of Leach Avenue just after 9:00 a.m. Thursday, on a report of smoke coming from the roof of a house. The house, which has two units, is near South Union Elementary School.
