It’s no secret that Lincoln has a wide array of bars lining the downtown streets. When looking ahead towards the weekend, it’s often that your plans will include some of the O Street classics: Iguana’s Pub, Duffy’s Tavern or perhaps The Brass Rail. But after a long week of classes, sometimes the chaos of a college bar is not what you need to reset for the weekend.
Luckily, Lincoln has more to offer than cheap beer and packed dance floors—there is a whole cocktail scene that can provide calmer, more sophisticated nights out in the capital city. I visited a few of them, and learned more about the atmosphere at each bar so that you can find the perfect place for your next casual night out.
The Sitch
This cocktail bar is located on O street, but it is definitely unique from the bars that surround it. Created by the owners of Dish, The Sitch is the perfect escape from the chaos of college bars and transports you into an atmosphere that is a perfect mix of quirky and elegant.
